CHAMPIONSHIPS & ACCOLADES
KING & QUEEN OF GAMES CHAMPIONSHIP
The Duelling Royalty Championship, also known as the King of Games Championship and the Queen of Games Championship, is a professional duelling championship and title created by Maximillion Pegasus and Industrial Illusions in 1998. It is now promoted by the pro-duelling governing body, the Duelist Alliance, and its World Duelling Federation promotion. It is the second oldest title in professional duelling. Unlike the rest of the World Duelling Federation's belts, the Duelling Royalty championship represents two championships. If one were to remove and reverse the 'King of Games' plate, the banner would instead read the 'Queen of Games'. Like the world championship, the rubies and pearls adorning its face are all real, adding to its prestige. The inaugural and longest reigning King of Games was Yugi Muto, following him, the first ever Queen of Games was Hayashi Akiko, whose all-time longest reign lasted 374 days. On January 6th, 2025, Kagami Yuusuke on the 907th day of his reign as Duel Monsters World Champion, defeated Jaden Yuki and claimed the duelling royalty title, becoming the first duelist to simultaneously hold two singles titles and becoming the first ever Undisputed Duel Monsters King of Games World Champion.

DUEL MONSTERS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
The Duel Monsters World Championship is the oldest and most prestigious title in all of professional duelling and was initially held by Seto Kaiba, who defended it nationally until his defeat at the hands of Yugi Muto. After the collapse of the original NDA and the subsequent buy-out from Kaiba Corporation, this belt remained in storage until the 2022 Great American Bash, where Seto Kaiba himself presented it as a surprise during the "mystery main event", which rebooted the title and its lineage. This championship entitles its holder to the title of being the world's champion of professional duel monsters. The inaugural World Duel Monsters Champion under this new lineage, as well as the current longest reigning champion of all time is Kagami Yuusuke.

DUEL MONSTERS INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Duel Monsters Intercontinental Championship is a professional dueling championship created by and promoted by the pro-duelling governing body, the Duelist Alliance and its World Duelling Federation promotion. The championship was established during the inaugural 2022 season and is an amalgamation of various African, European and Western Asian national titles as well as the former Worldwide Duelling Federation's Northeast United States Championship. Despite its prior lineage, this title internally is largely considered to be the European Championship. As it exists today, the Duel Monsters Intercontinental Championship is a 5-Plate belt and is described as a luxurious combination of polished silver and buffed brass, adorned with mock-rubies and mock-pearls along its edges. On the main plate there are 2 real rubies which represent the complete continents of both Europe and Africa. Flanking these rubies and the 'Intercontinental Championship' text are 8 real pearls, which represent the 8 former championships that are now unified as the one title. Etched into the grooves of this championship are a 'WW' zig-zag pattern, referencing the WDF's former name, standing for 'World Wide.' Like all championships, it features removable emblem plates that offer duelists their own level of personalisation.

GLOSSARY
A LIST OF TERMS, INCLUDING THEIR DEFINITIONS AND FURTHER ELABOURATION ON HOW THEY MAY RELATE TO THE RULES
Angle (& RELATED TERMS)
An angle or feud is a storyline within the storyline. An angle is a specific series of recurring segments and duels between two (or more) people/parties that encompasses an arc. An angle is different from a rivalry, and usually has a beginning-middle-and end, whether that be in a single match or a series of events that lasts a long period of time.
Agent (OOC)
An agent (not to be confused with the archetype of the same name) is the title of a group member or judge who assists in the planning, overseeing and overall refereeing of a match or angle in an out of character capacity (in contrast to an in-character judge). The role of an agent is to ensure everything runs smoothly and to spec of the Duelist Alliance.
Booking (& related terms)
Booking is the catch-all term used to describe the schedule of matches, segments and vignettes within an event. The person in charge with setting these up is referred to as the booker. A booker may also be described as someone who recruits, sets up, or creates angles within our storylines. Booking is also the term to describe a scheduled match or other appearance.
"Dueling Book Match"
A "dueling book match" refers to a thread in a storyline that is exceptionally low-detailed. Usually, a Duelling Book match is filled with one-liners, dialogue-heavy and is overall minimalist in detailing the actions and looks of the in-ring. Within the DA, these types of matches are forbidden. For example, posting the image of a card with only dialogue affixed constitutes a dueling book reply. Failing to give even the most minimal details to how a card is visualised in holographic form, or how it interacts with the scenery present in the scene/scenario, or otherwise (and to a reductive extent) portraying a game as simply as it is on the website that gives this term its namesake or how one would play in real life is what constitutes a dueling book match. This type of writing we find is boring and fails to portray or convey a proper narrative and can result in disqualification from events or removal from the group if a persistent complaint from your opponents. Attempt to match their length/detail, it is the courteous and respectful thing to do. You wouldn't want your efforts to be overshadowed, or for your own efforts to not be reciprocated. Matching does not need to be 1:1 or exact, but, put in as much heart as you can!
Duel (& related terms)
A duel also referred to as a match or a fight (especially during shadow games) are the catch-all term used to describe all of the conflict/combat-action within the Duelist Alliance and storylines.
Duelist Alliance (IC)
The National Duelist Alliance or just Duelist Alliance is the in-character global Duel Monsters governing body that governs over several promotions within the world of Duel Monsters. Groups under the duelist alliance include those outlined in the lore, but most notably the World Duelling Federation. Groups (both IC & OOC) who are affiliated with the WDF observe each other individual corporate & regional champions, as well as the world, royal and international champions of the Duelist Alliance. The group (in an in-character capacity mainly) functions similarly to the real-life National Wrestling Alliance, but more accurately like a boxing or athletic commission due to the games being real (non-worked) to the perspective of the characters.
Duelist Alliance (OOC)
The Duelist Alliance is the name of our roleplay group and completely fictitious organisation founded in 2016. The name is based off of the real-life TCG/OCG set and card of the same name.
Effect Victory
Effect Victory refers to winning a game via an effect, such as by the effect of Exodia the Forbidden One.
Finish
A finish is the end of a match, or more importantly, the sequence of moves or cards that end it. There are several types of finishes.A Clean Finish is a match that ends without cheating, outside interference, controversy or other form of fluke. In other words, it is a definitive open/shut scenario where the outcome of the match is without room for dispute.A Dirty Finish is a match that ends with some form of dispute or controversy. This can be as much as cheating gone un-caught by a judge, another duelist preventing a character from activating a card(s) or distracting them during their response window. Usually, a dirty finish is used to build on storylines, by creating a situation that can be disputed, thus justifying a future rematch.A Dusty Finish is when a face appears to win a match (especially a title match), but, the decision is later reversed due to a form of technicality. In the case of a title match, the title will default back to whomever held it going into the match, extending their reign, and setting up a future match or a series.A Flat Finish is a clean finish that lacks significance or flare. Simply put, it is an end to a match that is dull, usually the finish to matches on "TV" events.
Finish
A fluke is a surprising piece of luck that can be identified as the reason for a duelist's victory in a contest. A fluke is usually claimed by the heel to excuse a loss and set up another match. Examples of flukes include lucky topdecks or wonder pulls,
